Dental Veneers

At our dental clinic in Walnut Grove, our dentists can apply dental veneers — thin slices of tooth-coloured porcelain — to alter the look of our Langley patients' smiles.

Bring Back Your Bright Smile

Veneers are tooth-coloured and thin ceramic shells that a dentist permanently bonds to the fronts of your teeth. They are custom-shaped and shaded before adding them to your smile to match the natural colour of your teeth and your facial structure.

Veneers can provide a lasting fix for cracked, chipped, stained, or slightly misaligned teeth, and they can resist staining from food, drinks and cigarettes.

How Veneers Work

If your teeth have stains that cannot be removed with teeth whitening, veneers can cover them and help make your teeth appear more even. Veneers are permanently bonded to the fronts of your teeth, maintaining the natural appearance of your smile.

Veneers not only cover stains, but can help with chipped or abnormally sized teeth's appearance, evening out the contour of your smile and lengthening teeth that may be noticeably shorter than your others.

The Procedure

The veneer placement procedure is a relatively quick and easy way to alter the appearance and shape of your teeth, requiring little-to-no anesthesia.

First, the dentist will make a 3D scan of the tooth surface. This scan will then be used to develop a virtual model of the tooth for your custom porcelain veneer.

When they are ready, the veneers will then be bonded to the fronts of your teeth with permanent dental bonding agents, updating the appearance of your smile.

The Results

When comparing porcelain veneers quite closely to your natural teeth, you may notice small variations in the colouring between the two.

That said, colour variations can even occur in natural teeth and the casual observer will likely not notice these.

Some patients may decide to have a teeth whitening procedure prior to having veneers placed so that the colour of the veneers is matched to a whiter, brighter shade.
